Along the way this trail gains, loses, then regains a lot of ground, adding up to a whopping 4,700 feet of total elevation gain. so we again stayed in Lake Placid. We climbed back up all those steep rocks we had just climbed down and cursed at on our way over and we began our descent of Giant. Nice views at each outlook along the way.
